The Library is currently running a community based planning process to help us develop a new vision for both our services to children and the physical layout of the Children's Room. Over the summer we ran a staff workshop, an online public survey and we also placed "dot boards" in our Children's Room for care-givers to interact with. The public forum scheduled for October 2 (in the Children's Room) will be the final segment in the data gathering phase of the planning process.

At this forum there will be a presentation detailing the information received so far and also a conversation, facilitated by Trustees Edwards and Riina, that will allow you the opportunity to share your ideas and suggestions. 

Following this forum, the Board of Trustees will review all the information received and develop a final report: this report will detail a philosophy to guide our services to children and also recommended improvements to the Children's Room. We have received a significant amount of funds through the efforts of our local elected officials: these funds will be used to fund a construction project that will result in a totally re-imagined Children's Room for our community.
