Truss Us, It's Sturdy

A Truss structure is considered the strongest building structure because of the triangular shape it uses.  In this hand-on STEM lesson, students will explore why certain shapes are stronger than others and how they distribute load and withstand force differently.  Using what they learn, students will build and test the strength of their own truss bridges.
For children entering grades 3 through 5.
This program is sponsored by the Westchester Children's Museum ("Museum Without Walls") and the Mt. Pleasant Public Library.
